EastEnders’ Stevie Basaula has confirmed he's leaving the hit BBC soap in the wake of speculation that his character Isaac Baptiste was leaving Albert Square. Stevie first joined EastEnders is 2020 as Patrick Trueman's son, and said he will “cherish” the two years he spent on the programme and credited it for being part of his “growth” as an actor. His decision comes just days after his co-star Zack Morris announced he was also leaving the show, while Maisie Smith quit late last year.

Maisie Smith is reportedly set to make a return to EastEnders, three months after leaving Albert Square in December. Strictly Come Dancing star Maisie, 20, has played Tiffany Butcher on and off since she was six years old. But, she announced her decision to leave the soap late last year as Tiffany featured in a heartbreaking final storyline where her marriage crumbled.
