EastEnders and Corrie legends become Drag Queens for new show

Sherri Shepherd, start your countdown! The actress' new daytime talk show,, will debut on Sept. 12.The announcement, made by Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury, comes just days after Shepherd hosted the series finale of . «September 12th can't get here fast enough,» Shepherd said in a statement.

Elizabeth Wagmeister Senior CorrespondentSherri Shepherd is heading back to daytime.The former cohost of “The View,” actress, comedian and Emmy winner is launching her own talk show, which has officially been cleared for national syndication and will premiere on Sept. 12, Variety has learned.The new show, titled “Sherri,” has been cleared in more than 97% of the country with the Fox TV stations as its core station group.

Mel B is set as a judge for Season 2 of Paramount+’s drag queen singing competition Queen of the Universe. She joins returning judges Michelle Visage, Vanessa Williams and Trixie Mattel, along with Graham Norton, who returns as host. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and World of Wonder, producers of the Emmy-winning RuPauls Drag Race franchise. Mel B takes over the spot held by Leona Lewis, who served as judge on the first season.

Elizabeth Wagmeister Senior CorrespondentAfter 13 seasons, “The Wendy Williams Show” will officially come to an end this Friday, Variety has learned exclusively.The daytime talk show has been airing all season without its host, Wendy Williams, who will not be present for the final episode, which will include a video montage celebrating her groundbreaking television run.“The final original episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ will air on Friday, June 17th with a video tribute to the iconic host. The series comes to an end after 13 successful years in syndication,” a spokesperson for the show says in a statement to Variety.Williams has been absent from her show all throughout the 2021-2022 season, due to health-related issues.

Leicester TV royalty Mr Motivator is to become a queen for the night. The colourful character is set to glam up like never before and appear in drag for a new ITV show. Mr Motivator, whose real name is Derrick Evans, is one of six male celebrities who will take part in ITV’s one-off drag spectacular, Queens For The Night.

Lorraine Kelly, Mel C and Chris Hughes have teamed up for a new ITV drag show.  In a one-off special, a cast of celebrities will channel their inner drag queens for Queens For The Night, set to launch on ITV and ITV Hub later this year.

Coronation Street fans are set to see Simon Gregson as they've never seen him before. The actor is, of course, best known for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap but he'll be swapping the cobbles for the stage as part of Lorraine Kelly's new ITV show.
