Over eight million families in the UK will benefit from a new wave of Cost of Living Payments in 2023, according to the government.
Among them are pensioners who could be entitled to a cash boos on top of the £900 instalments. The payments will be made automatically so there is no need to apply, according to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
Work and Pensions Secretary, Mel Stride said: "These direct payments will help people right across the UK over this year and the start of the next, as we continue to provide consistent, targeted and substantial support for the most vulnerable."

Here's everything you need to know about how much you could receive from the Pensioner Cost of Living Payment and when you will receive it.
You could receive either £150 or £300 depending on when you were born and your circumstances during the qualifying dates. You can get a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2023 to 2024 if you were born before 24 September 1957, and therefore be eligible for the Pensioner Cost of Living Payment.
You will be sent a letter in October or November telling you how much Winter Fuel Payment you’ll get if you’re eligible, according to the government.
According to the government, the Pensioner Cost of Living payment will be handed out in one lump sump of up to £300. While an exact date is yet to be announced, the government currently predicts that the payment will be provided during winter 2023/24.
