We’re still buzzing after the season one finale of Tony Gilroy’s fantastic “Star Wars” series “Andor,” a prequel taking place before the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” One of the more well-written and executed modern “Star Wars” projects that showed that there were still some untapped places that creatives could explore within the universe that feel fresh and exciting.

It’s no secret that George Lucas struggled to develop 1988’s “Willow.” Lucas hatched his idea for the film before “Star Wars,” but he couldn’t make it until he approached Ron Howard to direct in 1985. Shortly afterward, MGM entered the production process, Bob Dolman came on board to pen the script, and things moved forward.

When you look at the current era of Disney-owned Lucasfilm, it’s difficult to argue that the high point has to be “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The prequel film, still now, feels wholly unique from just about everything else Lucasfilm has released over the last decade. And the one-shot film has already spawned a spinoff, “Andor,” which is regarded as the best “Star Wars” TV show yet.

OK, by now, if you’re a fan of Lucasfilm’s “Andor” on Disney+, you’re probably well aware that Sergeant Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow) recently returned to the series. Who, you ask? Well, as you’re aware, “Andor” is a prequel series to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and in that film, Melshi is one of the Rebel Alliance lieutenants in the film aiding Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the Rogue One squadron.

It’s fair to say that Lucasfilm’s latest “Star Wars” series, “Andor,” is the most acclaimed show since the franchise debuted on Disney+ a few years ago. That said, “Andor” is a very different beast than its predecessors.

Disney+’s Andor is getting a cross-company push. The first two episodes of the Star Wars prequel series will air across Disney’s distribution platforms including ABC, FX, Freeform and Hulu over the Thanksgiving holiday, coinciding with the Season 1 finale on the streamer.

EXCLUSIVE: Apple TV+’s The Morning Show is expanding its recurring cast for the upcoming third season, adding Clive Standen (Taken), Alano Miller (Dexter: New Blood) and Lindsay Duncan (A Discovery Of Witches). They’ll join new series regulars Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm as well as fellow new recurring players Tig Notaro, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales, as well as Julianna Margulies, who is reprising her Season 2 role.
