Dumbarton made it their best start to a league season since 1959 with an impressive victory against Annan Athletic.
Declan Byrne’s early header was added to by Finlay Gray just before half-time, with Byrne netting again early in the second-half before Gregor Buchanan rounded off the scoring two minutes from time.
However boss Stevie Farrell insisted his feet were remaining firmly planted on the ground - despite his side now sitting two points clear at the top of the table.
He said: “The clean sheet pleased me the most. That’s three in the last four games.
“We’re working really hard on our defensive shape because we know we’ve got players who, if we defend properly, give us a chance of winning games.
“I’m not bothered about 1959. I’m not bothered about 2021. All that matters is 2022.
“Nobody connected with Dumbarton is not pleased about where we are. But there’s a hell of a long way to go.
“The players are getting to understand the shape more and more. The number of goals we’ve scored is pleasing. But we aren’t getting carried away.”
In a game that was more competitive than the scoreline suggested, Sons got off to the perfect start for the second home game in succession.
With just three minutes on the clock Finlay Gray’s deep cross picked out Declan Byrne at the far post, and the striker’s clever header bounced beyond Galabankies’ keeper Greg Fleming and into the net.
Sons had a scare shortly after as Tommy Goss was tripped by Stuart Carswell as he chased a slack backpass, with the Sons man receiving a yellow card - and the Annan forward booked for waving an imaginary card in referee Barry Cook’s direction.
After a few half chances had came to nothing for the hosts, Annan looked like they had levelled.

Caroline Framke Chief TV Critic Several years (and several hundreds of millions of dollars) after Amazon bought the TV rights to “The Lord of the Rings” from the J.R.R. Tolkien estate, the mammoth effort to boost Prime Video’s profile with the same kind of phenomenon HBO found in “Game of Thrones” is upon us — and it’s just as grand, if not as downright surreal, as the occasion calls for. Sure, “Game of Thrones” might have solidified a television format for fantasy epics. But George R.R. Martin’s novels simply wouldn’t exist without Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings,” and bringing these stories to episodic life requires not just all the considerable money Amazon can provide, but a certain amount of guts from the TV writers taking it on now, some 85 years after “The Hobbit” changed the game.

which prompted the recent cancellation of the Atlanta festival Music Midtown, has now said that he wishes to “challenge” the live music promoter’s firearms ban inside its Georgia venues. The annual festival, which had been due to welcome the likes of My Chemical Romance, Jack White and Future from September 17-18, cancelled its 2022 edition earlier this month “due to circumstances beyond our control”.Billboard subsequently reported that recent changes to Georgia’s gun laws, which prevented Music Midtown’s owner Live Nation from banning festivalgoers from bringing guns on to the publicly owned festival grounds at Piedmont Park, were “the likely cause” for the cancellation. In a new interview with Billboard, Georgia IT worker, author and vocal gun rights activist Phillip Evans recalled how, in the weeks before the cancellation, he warned a contractor hired to handle security at Music Midtown that “should any member of your security team accost a legal carrier of weapons … [then] your company (and any involved individual) could be sued for damages”.“I urge you to honour and follow our state weapons law here in Georgia,” he added.A post shared by Music Midtown (@musicmidtown)Evans has now told Billboard that he never pushed for Music Midtown’s cancellation, and that he didn’t expect Live Nation to pull the plug on the event.“There’s nothing in my blog, in my opinion, that indicates I celebrated the decision,” he added. “I would’ve actually been thrilled had Live Nation gone ahead and had the event and said that they were following state law.”Describing himself as a “hardcore music fan” who “loves all kind of music from all eras”, Evans says that he wants Live Nation to “abide by a law”.
