Not even a whole week after the Cavaliers said that they had pulled themselves out of the Donovan Mitchell trade talks the Cleveland Cavaliers are sending Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, three unprotected first-round picks, and two pick swaps for superstar guard Donavan Mitchell. The most significant return for the Utah Jazz was free agent Collin Sexton, who signed a 4-year $72 million guaranteed contract yesterday. What does this trade mean for the Cavaliers’ near and far future? Does this trade make the Cavaliers a team to watch coming out of the Eastern Conference? Teams around the NBA should definitely take this Cavalier’s threat seriously.
Last season the Cavaliers had two first-time all-stars in Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. They are now adding another three-time all-star in Mitchell.
It was reported by Brian Windhorse that Mitchell was running around a golf course yelling with jow after he found out he was traded to Cleveland. “I know that Donovan was very excited when he found out initially—when he found out that he was traded, No. 1, and 2, that he was traded to the Cavs and that the Cavs were not trading any of their three-star players for him,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said Thursday on his podcast (9:30 mark).
According to Bleacher Report.com.The NBA’s Eastern Conference is loaded right now. Between The Bucks, Nets, Heat, Celtics, 76ers, and now the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Carly Rae Jepsen is hitting the road!
A few weeks ago the Cleveland Cavaliers made a massive trade and it could be the most significant move of this offseason. The Cleveland Cavaliers sent Lauri Markanen, Collin Sexton, 3 first-round picks, and 2 pick swaps to the Utah Jaxx for their 3-time all-star Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell had his press day on Wednesday and was introduced to the media as a Cavalier for the first time. Mitchell was shown a lot of love as fans crowded the bus he arrived on with signs and cheers.
With the NFL’s week, one action said and done The Cleveland Browns have finally won their first game of the season. Cleveland’s win against Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers is the team’s first week one win since 2004 against the Baltimore Ravens. As the Browns get ready for week two against the New York Jets they also look to start the season with a record of 2-0 which has not happened for the Cleveland Brown since 1993.
LeBron James is and always will be an icon in Cleveland as he is the best player in Cavaliers history and the man who brought the City its first pro-sports championship in over 50 years and the Cavs’ first title. LeBron was drafted by his hometown Cavaliers back in 3003 and since then he has done some fantastic things as a Cavalier. Winning two MVP awards during his time in Cleveland as well as taking an undermanned Cavaliers team to his first NBA Finals in 2007 and 4 consecutive Finals appearances and one win between 2015 through 2018.The most notable of James’ achievements as a Cavalier was in 2016 when he led a Cavaliers team that was down three games to one against a loaded Golden State Warriors team to three straight wins to take the series.
After a very forgettable rookie year for Cleveland Browns WR Anthony Schwartz due to injury, the young prospect is having what could be an even worse second year. With Schwartz struggling all of training camp and preseason Browns fans and some media outlets are calling for the Cleveland Browns to cut the WR as he could be a liability on the field. Schwartz has struggled with drops this preseason, it has gotten so bad that against the Chicago Bears Schwartz was booed off the field.
With The Cleveland Cavaliers trading Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen for the Utah Jazz’s three-time all-star, Donovan Mitchell the Cavs starting lineup is all but set with one spot up for grabs. There are a few players that could fill that slot such as Cris LeVert who the Cavaliers traded for at the deadline last season and who showed flashes of greatness.
With The NFL starting in just a few days we look at one of the more interesting matchups with Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers hosting Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns. This week one matchup has been circled on both teams’ calendars as Baker Mayfield looks to get his “revenge” on the Browns for kicking him to the curb.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were by far the most surprising team in the NBA last season notching 44 wins and their first winning season without LeBron James since he left for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavaliers were on the right track in their rebuild and were already playoff contenders last season.
Last season the Cleveland Cavaliers traded for veteran point guard Ricky Rubio. Rubio had played with Kevin Love when he was a Minnesota Timberwolve and they developed a great friendship.
Not too long ago, it was speculated that LeBron James would not sign an extension with the Los Angeles Lakers last month. That he might be on his way out of L.A.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and restricted free-agent guard Collin Sexton still have not come to an agreement on a new contract for the young player as we get closer and closer to the start of the NBA’s preseason. Sexton is a Rich Pual partner and it is not unusual for Paul and Kulch Sports to take these negotiations close to training camp or even into training camp as the Cavaliers saw with Triston Thompson back in 2015 before he got his new deal. Sexton has not had much of a market in his first free agency experience and he was very unhappy with the Cavaliers’ first offer to him. Every day that goes by that Sexton is still not with the Cavaliers is another day that it becomes more seemingly obvious that he will end up on a one-year qualifying offer with the Cavaliers.
The Cleveland Guardians have had a very successful season so far as they are the youngest team in all of Baseball but yet they still lead the American League Central. While Baseball is a team sport the Guardians have a handful of players they can thank for their division lead.
After the Carolina Panthers took down the Bills in Buffalo on Friday night with a score of 21-0 new Panthers QB1 Baker Matfield threw some gasoline on the already flammable week one matchup against his former team the Cleveland Browns. After the game, Baker Mayfield was talking to one of the sideline reporters when he went on to say this about playing the Browns in week one.
Earlier this week The Cleveland Cavaliers had officially pulled themselves out of the running for Utah Jazz star and three-time all-star Donovan Mitchell. It is not that the Cavaliers don’t have the right pieces to make a trade happen, it is that the Cavaliers refuse to give up any of the three players, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. The Cavaliers refuse to give up any core players for what seems like any player. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ plan to keep their young core together is for good reason.
With the first half of the NFL’s top 100 players list being released a few days ago, there are a few Cleveland Browns who made the cut this time around. One of those players is the Browns’ star running back Nick Chubb as he ranked at number 33 out the 100.
Last week it was announced that the Cleveland Cavaliers had touched base with the Utah Jazz for a trade to acquire their three-time all-star guard Donovan Mitchell. At the time it seemed like the Cavs and Jazz might come to an agreement as the Cavaliers have a surplus of young players and draft picks. It is now being reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers have pulled themselves out of the Donovan Mitchell race as they refuse to give up any of their core players for the guard.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the most shocking teams in the NBA last season as they had their first winning season without LeBron since he was drafted by the Cavs in 2003. The Cavaliers led by all-star point guard Darius Garland battled through many injuries and tough games to be the number two seed in the Eastern Conference at one point.
For the most part, the Cleveland Cavaliers line-up is set in stone with the exception of restricted free agent Collin Sexton who has yet to resign with the Cavaliers their roster should pretty much remain the same. Many fans and NBA insiders believe that Sexton will be back with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming NBA season.
