Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has hailed Donny van de Beek for the way he has conducted himself during his ongoing Old Trafford struggles.
The Dutch United midfielder continues to struggle for game time, making just 14 appearances in all competitions this season — only eight of which have come in the Premier League, and all via the substitutes bench.
It was hoped that the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the arrival of interim manager Ralf Rangnick, would transform Van de Beek's fortunes.
But he has continued to be overlooked, featuring in just half of the German's first 10 games in charge.
Despite his limited opportunities, Van de Beek has not been critical of United publicly, either through the media or on social media, although it is understood that he is unhappy and wants to leave the club.
However, Parker believes Van de Beek has commanded respect for the way he has gone about his duties during what has been an incredibly frustrating period for the Netherlands international.
"I like the way he has gone about it, which I think he's been respected for by Man United fans and people out there in football. He isn't moaning, he's not going on social media doing silly things," Parker told kelbet.nl.
"He's just getting on with it, watching on the bench. He's watching, you can see he's engrossed in what's going around him and when he goes on, it looks like he's got a buzz about him, even when he's only getting two or three minutes.
"You can look at him and think ok, you want to see a bit of discontent so you can say something but you're not seeing it.
