Surprising no one, Donald Trump today quickly lashed out at the January 6 Select Committee after a vote to subpoena the former president over his role in the insurrection and attack on the Capitol last year. 

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol voted unanimously on Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump.  The committee’s members, seven Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans, voted to compel the former president to testify about his conduct leading up to and during the attack.

Donald Trump was subpoenaed today over his role in the insurrection and attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The Congressional January 6 Committee announced earlier today that it would vote on whether to subpoena the former president in its ongoing investigation into the assault. There had been little indication in recent days that such a move might be in the offing, though in the hours before the conclave NBC did report on the possibility.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol is expected to vote Thursday to subpoena former President Trump.  The committee’s members, seven Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans, will hold a vote to compel the former president to testify about his conduct leading up to the incident, sources tell Fox News.Trump has previously refused to voluntarily cooperate with the panel, calling it a partisan witch hunt.  "What Donald Trump proceeded to do after the 2020 election is something no president had done before in our country," said Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.

The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin denounced Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., after years of previously praising him, for planning to step down and accept a position as president of the University of Florida. Rubin denounced Sasse on Wednesday in an op-ed calling him "an affirmative action hire if there ever was one" by Gov.

Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters said on "The Faulkner Focus" that Big Tech censorship played a crucial role in the 2020 presidential election.  Masters said "if everyone followed the law" then Donald Trump would "be in the Oval Office," pointing to how the FBI pressured social media and tech companies, including Facebook, to censor "true information" related to Hunter Biden's corrupt dealings. "In the weeks before the election, millions of people didn't get to read about it, and then the media said, 'oh, well, that's okay, that's just Russian disinformation.' No, it was true,"said Masters.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has become a top surrogate for former President Donald Trump this election cycle, raising speculation the Georgia Republican could be on the short list to be his running mate in 2024. Greene, who was first elected to Congress in 2020, rose to national attention by embracing issues and causes shunned by some Republicans for fear of controversy.  The strategy has made Greene a pariah among Democrats, who voted last year to strip her of committee assignments in the House, but popular among the Make America Great Again contingent of Republicans.

Former President Donald Trump on Monday sued CNN, seeking $475 million in damages, saying the network had defamed him in an effort to short-circuit any future political campaign.

Donald Trump fired off his latest defamation lawsuit against a news outlet Monday, this time seeking $475 million in punitive damages from CNN over what his lawyers say was an effort to “defame the Plaintiff in the minds of its viewers and readers for the purpose of defeating him politically.”
