Barbie Ferreira, one of the leading stars of HBO Max's "Euphoria," has made the shocking announcement that she is finished with her role as Kat Hernandez. In what she called "a very teary-eyed goodbye," Ferreira announced via her Instagram story that "after four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character," she would no longer be doing so.

Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Andi Mack‘s Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant make up the voice cast for Wildwood, the latest movie from Laika Studios.

Fans of “Euphoria” already know they’ll get a third season of Sam Levinson‘s hit show, thanks to HBO renewing the series in February. And while the next season is probably a couple of years away, there’s already one member of the ensemble cast who won’t be returning.

Euphoria casting director Jennifer Venditti has revealed that Zendaya’s role nearly went to a first time actress.Speaking to Variety, Venditti said that Zendaya was always first choice for the part of Rue – a troubled teen with a drug addiction – but at one stage the HBO series had its eye on an unknown talent.“There was a young woman who had been street scouted by my team who was a magical person and had a similar trajectory as Rue and had come around to the other side,” Venditti said, in reference to Rue’s struggles with drug addiction.“But with a TV show, it can be many years [of work]. We all loved her, but when we went through the rigour of the process, we didn’t know if she could handle what it would take in terms of stamina.”Venditti went as far as to assign the young star an acting coach in the hope of preparing her for the emotional weight of the show.
