A former NHS doctor has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a patient at the Royal Oldham Hospital. Isyaka Mamman, 78, is charged with manslaughter following an incident at the hospital.
Shahida Parveen, 48, died following a medical procedure in September 2018.
Mamman appeared at Manchester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Friday morning (May 20). He entered a guilty plea to the offence of manslaughter.

He will be sentenced on July 4th over the course of a two-day hearing.
In a statement, GMP previously said: "On Monday 3 September 2018 a medical procedure took place at Royal Oldham Hospital which resulted in the death of a patient - 48-year-old Shahida Parveen. Due to the circumstances of the procedure the matter was referred to police for further investigation."
The Recorder of Manchester, Judge Nicholas Dean QC, granted Mamman, of Cumberland Drive, Royton, Oldham, unconditional bail.
“You have pleaded guilty to what is a serious offence and a sentence of imprisonment is thought to be inevitable. I’m saying nothing to what the appropriate sentence will be, that is a matter for Mrs Justice Yip who will deal with the sentence,” he said.
“You have been on bail and your bail will be extended. You must attend on July 4.”
