Weekly Covid infection rates are dropping in the UK, but a World Health Organisation (WHO) expert has said that the pandemic isn't over yet.
On Sunday (23 January) the nation recorded a further 74,799 coronavirus infections, marking a 15% week-on-week drop.

He added: “It’s as though we’re just passing the halfway mark in a marathon and we can see that yes, there is an end and fast runners are getting through ahead of us."

There are only a few circumstances in which you'll need a PCR test to follow-up a positive lateral flow test (LFT).
According to the NHS You only need to confirm a positive lateral flow test if:
The government has said that if you have any of the main three Covid symptoms, you need to take a PCR test.
