‘Dirty Dancing’ star Patrick Swayze's wife pays tribute to late actor ahead of film’s 35th anniversary

Prince Charles paid tribute to his mother Queen Elizabeth II in his first statement as monarch Thursday evening.

Aircraft Pictures is teaming up with Dolphin Entertainment to produce a new feature adaptation of the 1986 sports drama, Youngblood, with rising filmmaker Charles Officer (Akilla’s Escape) on board to direct. The film is slated to begin principal photography in early 2023.

Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort have shared the screen many times, from playing siblings in the action packed "Divergent" movies and costarring in the 2014 romantic drama "The Fault in Our Stars." The actors have teamed up again, but this time, to take on one of the most iconic dance scenes in movie history.  Woodley and Elgort reunited this week and they both took to Instagram to share some moments from their get together. Part of their time spent together was trying to reenact the Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey lift from the 1987 film, "Dirty Dancing."  Elgort shared a photo of the two's reenactment of the big lift on his Instagram with the caption "Clean dancing w Shai." Carson Burton A new feature film based on the 1986 sports drama “Youngblood,” this time centering on an African American hockey prodigy, is in the works from Aircraft Pictures and Dolphin Entertainment. Rising filmmaker Charles Officer is on board to direct the film, which is slated to begin principal photography in early 2023. The reimagined update follows hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, who joins the Hamilton Bulldogs and faces toxic behavior throughout his journey to the National Hockey League draft. The original 1986 film, distributed by MGM, was Keanu Reeves’ feature film debut. It also starred Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze, and it has since become a cult classic among hockey fans.

Sir Elton John has paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, on the 25th anniversary of her death, saying: “You will always be missed.” The 75-year-old veteran musician, who was close friends with the princess, shared a photo on Instagram of them laughing together to commemorate the occasion. Diana, the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, was 36 when she was killed in a car crash in Paris on August 31 1997.

Ray Liotta died, and his fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, found a way to pay tribute to him with a permanent reminder.Nittolo took to Instagram on Saturday and shared a series of black and white photos, the first of which shows her sitting in a chair at a tattoo shop getting ready for the new ink. Another photo shows her smiling, and the last photo appears to show the final product on her right forearm, a feather.«Yesterday marked 3 months,» Nittolo captioned her post in part. «It only seemed appropriate to do something meaningful that will forever be with me.»The tattoo comes two months after she reflected on the star's death.

It has been 35 years since the iconic film "Dirty Dancing" first premiered on the big screen and became an instant hit. Not even the film’s stars or studio executives predicted the film's massive success.

On what would have been Patrick Swayze 's 70th birthday year, fans are reflecting on his hugely successful acting career, as well as his tragic death from pancreatic cancer. The Dirty Dancing star should have celebrated the milestone last Friday, but sadly passed away in 2009, at age 57, after losing his battle with the terrible disease.
