BMG has acquired a whole load of music rights from the estate of blues musician John Lee Hooker. This includes his entire publishing catalogue – in a joint deal with Fujipacific Music – all of his royalty income from his recordings, and a sizeable chunk of his actual recorded music catalogue, spanning releases put out from 1980 and posthumously since his death in 2001.The Hooker estate is managed by JAM Inc.

Carmen Herrera was an abstract artist who made her first sale at the age of 89 and went on to great fame in the art world.Herrera was a native of Havana, Cuba, where she initially studied architecture. She turned this talent into one for art after she moved to New York City in the 1930s. She studied painting there, beginning to form the style that would be celebrated many decades later.

Though unconfirmed by the man himself, many have interpreted this as a show of support for Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers player who was largely ostracized by the league after he began kneeling before games in 2016. Early reports from Sunday suggested that Eminem had been prohibited from making the gesture while on stage, and that his decision to do it went against the NFL's demands.

NEW YORK -- Cuban-born artist Carmen Herrera, whose radiant color and geometric paintings were overlooked for decades before the art world took notice, has died. She was 106.Artist Antonio Bechara told The New York Times that Herrera had died at her Manhattan home Saturday.Fame finally came at age 89, when Herrera sold her first painting in 2004.It may have taken 60 years for Herrera to be discovered, but today her paintings — minimalist compositions of straight lines, form and color — are found in permanent collections of major museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Modern in London.“The core to Carmen Herrera’s painting is a drive for formal simplicity and a striking sense of color,” according to the London-based Lisson Gallery.

Almost 12 years after Law & Order was abruptly canceled by NBC, Dick Wolf’s Emmy-winning drama series is returning Feb. 24 for a 21st season, which features Sam Waterston and Anthony Anderson reprising their roles from the original series, joined by new cast additions Jeffrey Donovan, Camryn Manheim, Hugh Dancy and Odelya Halevi.

Hugh Jackman and his good friend Ryan Reynolds have long had a very public, but very friendly 'feud'.  And it appears that Hugh's wife Deborra-Lee Furness has picked sides, as she posed alongside Ryan and his wife Blake Lively at the opening of The Music Man in New York on Thursday.  The Music Man is Hugh's latest Broadway starring role, and his friends and family turned out to support him.

Along with Nanjiani and Rannells, the cast also includes Murray Bartlett and Annaleigh Ashford.Rannells will play the rich kid investor in Chippendales New York and the love interest of Bartlett, who stars as producer-choreographer Nick De Noia.Rannells’ recent onscreen roles include “Black Monday” at Showtime and “Girls5Eva” at Peacock.

Emily Longeretta “Law & Order” is bringing back yet another familiar face. While NBC previously announced that Sam Waterston and Anthony Anderson will both be reprising their roles of D.A.
