Sharon Stone is pleading with voters. On Sunday, the 62-year-old Oscar nominee took to Instagram to send a special message to women voters in Florida ahead of the upcoming presidential election, imploring them to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Floridians experienced a record-breaking first day of early voting in anticipation of the upcoming November election, with over 3.1 million votes cast.  More than 366,000 of those ballots were cast in-person on the first day, according to statistics from the Florida Division of Elections.

A Miami police officer is facing suspension after pictures surfaced on social media, apparently showing him wearing a Trump 2020 facial covering while at a voting station.  During a news conference Tuesday, Mayor Francis Suarez said the officer would be disciplined and said a suspension was a possibility. "There were people claiming it was voter intimidation,” Suarez said.

At least seven people have been charged in an "elaborate" flying squirrel trafficking scheme in which poachers in Florida caught thousands of the rodents before selling them to buyers in Asia, officials said on Monday. Poachers are accused of illegally catching more than 3,500 flying squirrels, a protected species in Florida, over a three-year period, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

A Florida police vehicle knocked a motorcyclist off his bike during a high-speed chase Sunday along a freeway and was captured on video.  In a pair of videos uploaded to social media, several Florida Highway Patrol vehicles are seen chasing someone on a motorcycle on Florida's Turnpike in Delray Beach, 55 miles north of Miami.  The chase occurred next to a procession of bikers participating in the West Palm Beach Breast Cancer Awareness Ride Out, the Daily Mail reported.

A dozen shots rang out at a youth football game in Florida, killing a man and wounding his 7-year-old son, according to reports. The shooting happened Sunday evening at a park next to an elementary school in Jacksonville and touched off a chaotic scene that sent kids and adults running for their lives in all directions.The boy's injury was a graze wound.

At least two dozen people aboard a sinking boat off the Florida coast were rescued by a massive Carnival Cruise Line ship on Saturday, according to multiple reports. The Carnival Sensation, which reportedly had no guests onboard due to the coronavirus pandemic, came to the aid of the small boat that was in international waters roughly 37 miles off the coast of Palm Beach, Fla, the cruise line said.

A Florida man, wielding a machete was fatally shot by county deputies on Thursday, following an altercation with his sister, authorities said.  Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s office responded to an apartment on Freedom Drive in the unincorporated community of Frostproof around 9:00 p.m., according to a press release.

A body found in an SUV pulled from a Florida retention pond appears to be that of a woman missing for more than three weeks, according to reports. Police searching for Stephanie Hollingsworth, 50, of Belle Isle, confirmed the Chevy Tahoe fished out of the water Saturday night belonged to her, Fox 35 Orlando reported.

Florida Republicans have cut the voter registration gap with Democrats to a historic low, giving the GOP a boost during early voting.  Politico reported Thursday night that the difference in registration numbers for voters in the battleground state is the lowest in at least three decades. Republicans now trail Democrats by just 134,242 registered voters, down from 327,483 in 2016.  Four years ago, President Trump won the Sunshine State by fewer than 113,000 votes.
