New Order have backed the #LetTheMusicMove campaign against proposed changes to US visa rules that would impact touring artists.Last month saw the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announce that it was planning to raise touring visa fees for foreign acts by more than 250 per cent.The DHS said in its proposal that applications for a P visa, which is for acts arriving in the states to perform temporarily, would increase from the current rate of $460 (£375.23) to $1,615 (£1,317). Meanwhile, the longer-term O work visa would jump from $460 (£375.23) to $1,655 (£1,349).Numerous musicians have since spoken out against the plans, saying that it would be “a huge hardship to pay such high visa fees”.

The Resolution Foundation has warned that more than half a million people on benefits are likely to see their support cut back as a result of the UK Government’s welfare reforms. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced what he described as the “biggest change to our welfare system in a decade” during Wednesday’s Spring Budget, with the scrapping of the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) to assess eligibility for sickness benefits.

Lil Keed has been announced, launched with the new single ‘Self Employed’.The new album, ‘Keed Talk To ‘Em 2’, will be the first posthumous LP released by the star’s camp and the sequel to his breakthrough 2018 mixtape ‘Keed Talk To ‘Em’.The album will be the follow-up to the 2020 album ‘Trapped On Cleveland 3’, which was the last that Keed released during his life. ‘Self Employed’ is the second posthumous release of Lil Keed’s since the album’s lead single ‘Long Way To Go’.Last year, Lil Keed died on May 13 at just 24 years old from eosinophilia, according to the Los Angeles coroner’s report. Fellow peers – including Drake, Quavo and Lil Yachty – all paid tribute to the budding trap star.Before his death, Keed was signed to Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life Records. The two had met when Keed freestyled for Thug in an impromptu street freestyle.Keed’s death came months after his mentor and some of his fellow labelmates – including Gunna – were indicted on racketeering charges.

Vernon Kay has been announced as the new host of BBC Radio 2's mid-morning show, replacing Ken Bruce who has been presenting the show for 31 years.The husband of Tess Daly, 48, is already familiar to Radio 2 listeners as in recent years he's covered for The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Steve Wright in the Afternoon, Rylan on Saturday and Dermot O'Leary.He also presents Dance Sounds of the 90s on BBC Sounds and Radio 2. Vernon kicked off his radio career at Radio 1 from 2004 – 2012, where he presented Saturday and Sunday mid-morning shows.
