Deborah James shares heartbreak over how she 'won't see her son as a father'

Dame Deborah James has spoken out in the lead up to Father’s Day about being heartbroken that she will never get to see her son as a father, admitting it’s “too hard to think about”. The 40-year-old journalist and podcast host is receiving end-of-life care at her parents' home in Woking after being discharged from hospital last month, with doctors giving her just days to live. Deborah has so far defied doctors' expectations – inspiring the nation with her will to make the most of her final days.The campaigner – known as Bowel Babe – has given her nod to her father Alistair in the lead up to Father’s Day.
“I’ve not always been a big one for telling Dad how much I love him, so take it from me, just say it. You never know when it might be your last chance,” she told The Sun. The star also revealed her heartbreak at not being able to see her own son become a father himself.
She said: “It's too hard to think about, the idea I won’t see my son as a father.” Deborah also took the opportunity to salute the men in her life including her husband Seb as she reflected on the upcoming Father’s Day. She continued: “For me, this year it’s about my dad and Seb, but it’s also about the men in my life who will hopefully one day be fathers too, my son and brother.” Deborah shares children Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12, with husband Seb. She went on: “Seb is a great father, he’s incredible with them both.
I have absolutely no concerns about what will happen to the kids. “He dotes on them and I know they will want for nothing. He loves them so much, and I know that when I’m no longer here, he will love them for me too.” 'Bo welbabe' Deborah was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016 and has bee sharing her brave battle with fans ever since.
