Deadline on Monday launched the streaming site for its inaugural Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted awards-season event. It took place Saturday and spotlighted 38 programs in those fields from 19 studios and streamers. It also sets the stage for our Contenders Television scripted event May 15.

Deadline on Monday launched the streaming site for its Contenders Television awards-season event, which this past weekend shined a light on 49 buzzy scripted programs from 21 broadcast and cable networks and streamers in our biggest Contenders showcase yet.
Stephen Colbert appeared on behalf of his CBS late-night show during Deadline’s Contenders Television all-day awards-season event and admitted he was eager to get back to having an audience for his hit series, which has been essentially shooting from a storage closet at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York.
For a second year in a row, Deadline’s Contenders Television is going virtual, and we are about to take off with an astonishing 128 creatives and stars appearing in the all-day event that will feature a total of 21 networks and 49 shows. Actor Seth Rogen believes Texas Sen.Ted Cruz could benefit from smoking some marijuana with the funnyman amid their ongoing Twitter sparring.
