The final members of the public have filed through Westminster Hall to pay their respects to the Queen as her Lying-in-State drew to a close.The last people who queued through the night to view the late monarch’s coffin left the historic hall at 6.30am. Members of parliamentary staff then followed, with Black Rod Sarah Clarke the last to walk past the coffin.The late monarch had been Lying-in-State for four days. As of 6am this morning, Monday 19 September, hundreds of people were still streaming out of Westminster Hall having seen the Queen lying in state.They had been waiting for hours, with the queue closing after 10:30pm on Sunday.

Beckham told Sky News – who caught up with him while he was still waiting in line – that he had joined the queue at 2am on Friday morning. “Well we all want to celebrate our Queen, Her Majesty,” he told the camera crew as the line inched forward. Later that day, at around 3pm, the BBC’s livestream of the lying in state showed Beckham, dressed in a black suit and tie, finally entering Westminster Hall. As the soccer star approached the Queen’s coffin, which is sat on a catafalque draped in the Royal Standard flag and the Imperial State Crown, he stopped and bent his head, pausing for a moment before following the others mourners out.
