Daughter and granddaughter of Coronation Street star ‘attacked two women and stole their cash’ in vicious assault

FORMER Corrie star Johnny Briggs' daughter and granddaughter appeared in court today charged with attacking two women for £20. Karen Briggs, 53, and her daughter Emma Beach, 34, are accused of ambushing Sophia Walton and Amanda Gaye in October this year. The pair allegedly also stole £20 from Ms Gaye during the attack, it is said.
They appeared at Guildford Crown Court today charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and theft. Briggs and Beach denied the charges with a trial date set for October 16 next year. The mum and daughter were bailed on the condition they do not enter Surrey except to attend court, probation service appointments and to visit hospital.
