Darius Danesh 'visited by pal Gerard Butler' days before shock death aged 41

Darius Danesh Campbell was visited by his friend actor Gerard Butler at his US apartment days before his tragic death, according to reports. The 41 year old was found dead on 11 August at his residence, in Rochester, Minnesota, which sits opposite a private clinic, his family confirmed in a statement this week. Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Darius met fellow Scotsman Gerard, 52, during his time living over in the US and the pair are said to have become close friends in recent months. According to sources, Gerard was seen at the late singer’s apartment block before he died, where he called his friend numerous times at his sixth-floor flat. A source told The Sun: “I saw Gerard around a few times — I think he was supporting his friend.” Another person also reported seeing 300 and Olympus Has Fallen star Gerard at the complex just last week.
Darius rose to fame after appearing on Pop Idol in 2001 as a contestant and went on to have a successful career in the West End.The late star’s apartment is situated opposite Mayo clinic, where several residents told The Sun they’re receiving treatment for health issues there. Photos of Darius with pal Gerard have circulated on social media, showing them walking near Malibu Beach and attending the Coachella Rock festival together last April.The Scotsmen are thought to have met at a party held by singer Rod Stewart and in March, the close friends decided to venture on a trip back home to Glasgow. Darius spent the last 15 years living in the US before his untimely death.
