For the first time ever, Ashley Banjo and the rest of the Diversity dance troupe will be taking to the ice for a performance on tonight’s Dancing on Ice. Ashley, who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent as the frontman of Diversity, has worked as a judge on the BBC skating show since 2018 with Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill and Jason Gardiner.The judging panel has changed significantly over that time, with John Barrowman featuring in 2020 and later Strictly Come Dancing’s, Oti Mabuse. During Sunday night’s episode, Ashley and the rest of Diversity will be swapping their kicks for skates in their first group skate ever ahead of their Supernova tour later this year.
Perri Kiely competed on the show back in 2020 with his partner Vanessa Bauer, against the likes of Maura Higgins and singer Ian "H" Watkins. Vanessa and Perri made it to the finals, though they sadly lost out to Joe Swash who nabbed the crown. In a pre-show picture, Perri, 27, and Ashley could be seen in matching 1920s-inspired outfits, with both of the dancer's sporting pinstripe trousers, white shirts, graphic ties and suspenders.
On Saturday, Diversity’s official Instagram also posted about the show alongside several pictures of the entire group training. “Rehearsals complete. Now onto the big performance tomorrow on @dancingonice , make sure you tune in at 6.30pm,” they wrote in the caption.
