Love the NHS.” While fans were relieved for Dan about his daughter’s condition, the Channel 5 News star received some backlash for mentioning the nurse’s shift time, which led him to add: “Twitter is odd sometimes.
Some people are angry about the mention of shift length. “I’m not ‘amazed’ she’s doing 13 hours — my sister is a nurse and does it all the time. I used to do whooping great shifts 6 days a week.
Nothing wrong with working hard. Have a lovely day.” The presenter’s remarks come after he received an unhappy response from a Twitter user about him referring to the “four hour” wait he had at hospital with his daughter earlier on in the day as the pair sat in A&E. Dan responded: “Not moaning. The hospital is brilliant and they are understaffed today because of “unforeseen absences” (there is a sign up).
