Dan Levy Feature Directorial Debut ‘Good Grief’ At Netflix Sets Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel, Luke Evans & More

Focus Features has announced that it will release We Are Lady Parts creator Nida Manzoor’s feature directorial debut Polite Society in U.S. theaters on April 28, 2023. The action-comedy will be released internationally by Universal Pictures International, with its UK debut set for April 7, 2023.

Joined by Laurence Fishburne (as the Morpheus-like School Master), Michelle Yeoh (largely wasted as some kind of beauty instructor) and Cate Blanchett (in voice only, as the film’s self-aware narrator), these stars have been given carte blanche to chew the scenery.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have picked up Ray Romano’s feature directorial debut Somewhere in Queens, which previously had a world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The three-time Emmy winner also co-wrote, stars and produced the film. Roadside plans to give Somewhere in Queens a theatrical release next year. The pic currently stands at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

.““Good Grief” is the first project as part of a film and TV deal Levy’s banner Not A Real Production Company signed back in September 2021. Producing for Not a Real Production Company are Levy and Megan Zehmer alongside Sister’s Stacey Snider, Kate Fenske and Debra Hayward.Ruth Negga is reuniting with Netflix after starring in its drama “Passing” last year.
