Selome Hailu Netflix has greenlit “Squid Game: The Challenge,” a reality competition series based on the hit 2021 South Korean drama.The news came from Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s head of global TV,  at the Banff World Media Festival on Tuesday. According to Netflix, “Squid Game: The Challenge” will be “the biggest reality competition series ever,” hosting the largest cast and offering the largest lump sum cash prize in reality television history as 456 players compete for $4.56 million.Contestants will go through a series of games inspired by the original show, plus new additions, which are all intended to test their strategies, alliances and character as others are eliminated around them.

In the latest snaps from the New York City set, Cooper — who appears as a younger version of his real-life character, famed American conductor Leonard Bernstein -- is joined by his co-star, Matt Bomer -- both dressed in what looks like business attire.Bomer is seen passionately grabbing Cooper's face before sharing a kiss with the actor.It's currently unclear what role Bomer is playing in the biopic, which also stars Carey Mulligan, who plays Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre, as well as Sarah Silverman and Maya Hawke.The latest pics come just over a week after Netflix released nearly unrecognizable first-look shots of Cooper as Bernstein from the set of the film.

Sarah Silverman has joined the cast of the Leonard Bernstein biopic “Maestro,” which will star and be directed by Bradley Cooper, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Silverman is playing Bernstein’s sister.“Maestro” was originally set at Paramount, but Netflix took over with Martin Scorsese producing along with Steven Spielberg, who is producing via his Amblin Entertainment banner.
