Critics Choice TV Nominations: ‘Succession’ Leads Field As HBO Edges Netflix

2022 Critics Choice Awards are being postponed amid COVID-19 concerns.With the Omicron variant and rising cases of the coronavirus, the organization has decided to put a pause on its upcoming in-person ceremony, which was scheduled to be hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer on Sunday, Jan. 9 in Los Angeles.

It’s official – the 2022 Critics Choice Awards in-person ceremony has been postponed.

LOS ANGELES -- It was a showdown between Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s “Drive My Car” and Jane Campion’s “ The Power of the Dog ” for members of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, but the group managed to give top honors to both on Saturday.The Japanese film “Drive My Car” was named best picture and “The Power of the Dog,” a Western drama set in 1925, got runner up.

Drakeo The Ruler is in critical condition after being stabbed at Once Upon A Time in LA Festival on Saturday (December 18).The rapper was booked to play the festival at Exposition Park alongside Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and 50 Cent.

The New York Film Critics Circle anointed “Drive My Car” as the Best Film of 2021 and now the West Coast critics have had their say. After almost six hours of overall deliberations, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association also selected “Drive My Car” as their Best Film of the year with “The Power of the Dog” as runner-up.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association is voting Saturday on the best films and performances of 2021. The group, made up of L.A. area print and digital journalists, is deliberating winners and runners-up throughout the morning in 14 categories including Best Picture.

Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) voted on the best achievements in film in 2021 on Saturday, announcing its award winners through its Twitter account.As previously announced, Mel Brooks received the association’s 2021 career achievement award. This year’s winners will be honored alongside Brooks during a ceremony in 2022.“Mel Brooks is a national treasure and a comedy filmmaking legend,” LAFCA president Claudia Puig said in a Nov.

The African American Film Critics Association said Wednesday that it has selected Netflix’s Western The Harder They Fall as its film of the year. It leads a Top 10 list that also includes King Richard, Respect, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Passing, Belfast, Who We Are, House of Gucci, The Power of the Dog and West Side Story.
