The housing giant has applied for planning permission in principle to build the estate on Kilmarnock Road in the village.  The proposal has sparked complaints from residents with 30 objections lodged.Land for a park and ride in the area has been earmarked in a council local development plan  to relieve traffic queues around Ayr.The idea has been around for more than a decade but has yet to happen.The potential park and ride site is within Barratt’s  “control” according to planning documents.
