Corrie's Faye Brookes shares mum's bowel cancer diagnosis as she completes final chemotherapy

Former Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes has opened up about her mum’s battle with bowel cancer in a heartfelt post celebrating the completion of her final chemotherapy session. The 34 year old, who is best known for playing Kate Connor in the popular ITV soap, shared a sweet photo on Tuesday evening along with a video as her mum Inger Barber was finally able to ring the iconic bell to mark the end of her gruelling chemotherapy treatment. Inger was first diagnosed with bowel cancer back in October 2021 after she was hospitalised for being unwell, with doctors conducting a serious of blood tests, scans and exams to finally reveal the devastating news.
However, unwilling to be beaten by the disease, Inger began treatment for the illness - with her final round chemo being successfully completed on Tuesday May 10th.
