Coronation Street fans think they have worked out who is behind Max’s catfish scandal. On Monday night, viewers of the ITV soap saw Max Turner’s virtual relationship with his new girlfriend, Sonya, develop into something more sinister. He had been messaging ‘Sonya’ online for weeks, but the couple were set to meet for a date when she asked him for a picture of his ‘whole package’ to know what to expect.

As the couple sat down for their long-awaited date, Sonya revealed that she had never received any messages from Max including that private photo. Moments later, the teenagers realise that someone has set them up and Max receives a text message that demands he pays them £1,000 otherwise his naked picture will be released. Despite the blackmailing twist, many fans believe they have already worked out who is the catfish as Max has made some enemies.
