Corrie fans go wild over travel blunder as Chesney rushes to airport for Joseph

Coronation Street viewers were left on the edge of their seats in a recent episode as panicked dad Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) rushed to the airport to reunite with son Joseph (William Flanagan). During Monday 28 February’s episode of the ITV soap, Chesney was in a race against time to make it in time to get to Joseph before he started his new life with grandma Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard) in Portugal.The pair eventually came face to face and enjoyed a heartfelt chat as Chesney realised he’d made a mistake and that Joseph didn’t want to leave after all.

But, shortly before Chesney’s mad airport dash, fans were distracted after spotting a big blunder in their emotional goodbye scene. While there, Bernie told Joseph that he would enjoy Portugal and that his Uncle Paul would be in touch at 7pm “your time”. However, eagle-eyed fans flocked to social media to point out that the line made no sense as there is no time difference between Portugal and the UK.

After hearing Bernie’s line, one wrote: “”7 o'clock your time." Portugal is in the same time zone as UK. #Corrie.” A second said: “Someone needs to tell the writers of @itvcorrie that Portugal is the same time zone at the UK #Chesney #Joseph #corrie #coronationstreet.” While another added: “Portugal is the same time zone as the UK is it not #corrie.” Meanwhile, fans were thrilled that Chesney got to Joseph just in time, before he left the country with his ex Katy’s mum.
