Corrie fans baffled over Ted's crutch blunder as Craig sends it off for testing

Coronation Street fans were left baffled on Wednesday's episode as PC Craig Tinker decided to send off the crutch he has been using for finger prints. Only recently, Emma Brooker and Faye Windass accidentally hit and killed an old man called Ted during a driving lesson with the duo deciding to cover up the crime. However, Faye's father Tim Metcalfe, whose car they had used, discovered Ted's crutch in the boot and Craig has been using it after he suffered an injury.
After spotting initials on the side, which he hasn't linked to Ted's case, Craig has been invested in finding out the history of the object, which Emma claimed they found in a charity shop. During the latest instalment, Craig left Emma and Faye concerned when he revealed that he had sent the crutch off to a lab in a bid to find out its previous owner. After noticing it was missing when he entered the Rovers Return, Emma suggested that they return the crutch to the charity shop so it can help someone else.To which Craig revealed: "I've sent it to the lab for finger printing. I told one of the analysts about my bet with Tyrone and he thought it was funny so he offered to get it analysed." After asking if that was allowed, he admitted; "Well, no...

However, soap watchers were left confused during the scene as they pointed out that the testing wouldn't "prove" anything as it will have Craig's fingerprints all over it as well as both Emma and Faye's due to it being in the flat.
