A host of Coronation Street stars were spotted in Manchester on Monday as they attended the press night for The Play That Goes Wrong at the city’s Opera House Theatre. Several fan favourites, including Millie Gibson and Elle Mulvaney arrived to see the performance of the smash hit play, as it returned to Manchester as part of its ongoing fifth UK tour, which runs until August 21st 2022.
The award-winning comedy play charts the exploits of The Cornley Drama Society who are putting on a 1920s murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong… does! As the accident prone thespians battle on against all the odds to reach their final curtain call, hilarious results ensue - something many of the actors will be able to relate to. Dressed down for the evening in a whole host of comfy but chic outfits, a number of familiar faces were spotted at the must see performance including actor Daniel Brocklebank, who plays vicar Billy in the soap and Julia Goulding, the actress who plays Shona Platt. For his evening at the theatre, Daniel opted for a black jumper and jacket, while he added a touch of modernity with a pair of sand coloured chinos as he posed alongside co-star Julia who opted for a white sweater, black coat and mid-washed blue jeans.
Another familiar face many fans will recognise was Phill Whittaker actor, Jamie Kenna, who most recently sent fans into a frenzy as he battled with love rival Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall) to try and win over Fiz Stape. Jamie opted for a grey t-shirt, dark wash jeans and a green over shirt - and even a small splattering of rain didn’t dim his smile!
