Coronation Street's Kimberly Hart-Simpson has teased a potential return for her character Nicky Wheatley on the ITV soap.The actress, 35, first joined the cobbles in June 2020 as escort Nicky, who developed a complicated relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) after he lost his on-screen wife, Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn), to cancer. Earlier this year, Nicky made an explosive return to the cobbles as she became embroiled in a love triangle with Daniel and his new girlfriend Daisy Midgeley. However, after realising his feelings were set on Daisy, Nicky decided to move out of Daniel's flat and consequently made her exit from the cobbles.
And now Kimberly, who has teamed up with Direct Line's "backup you need" experience, has teased a potential return for Nicky. Speaking exclusively to OK!, the actress, who is starring in St Helens Theatre Royal's Christmas pantomime Cinderella later this year, said: "As it stands at the minute, I'm out for a bit, but we don't know what the future holds. "Obviously, there wasn't an actual leaving storyline for me so you just never know.
I think I've just gone to put the kettle on somewhere. But yeah, hopefully that will come back around!" Talking about if she'd like to return as Nicky, Kimberly said: "I'd relish the opportunity to go back there, I definitely feel like there's still more to go with Nicky and still more to find out about her. "But we found out so much this year as well.
