Coronation Street viewers are sure they've worked out what's in store for Stu (played by Bill Fellows) since his arrest on Wednesday's episode. Stu was sent home from hospital and back to the street with the intention of explaining the details of his past to Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) after he was arrested for Charlie’s murder. Yasmeen found out about the arrest through his ex-wife Lucy, who believes he was responsible for her murder after discovering the pair had an affair.
In shocking scenes, Stu then confessed to the crime after his DNA was found on the body but now claims it was a wrongful conviction. In scenes that aired on Wednesday evening (August 10), Stu arrived at Yasmeen’s house and caused her distress and panic when he refused to leave until she'd listened to what he had to say. Stu explained to a terrified Yasmeen that Detective Lennox had forced him to confess and that it wasn't true.
But Yasmeen was unconvinced feeling certain that Stu must be guilty of the crime – she even compared him to her traumatic past caused by Geoff. Panicking she secretly called Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) for help and eventually he burst into the house alongside PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith ), to arrest Stu. But fans spotted that during the tussle of the arrest a wrist fell from Stu’s pocket and after he was taken away to the station, Yasmeen told Zeedan to throw the watch – leaving many fans suspecting the item could hold vital clues.
