Leo decided to speak to the estate agent who was booked to value Audrey Roberts' house, before eavesdropping on a conversation with Gabrielle. Confronting Stephen on the balcony behind the Underworld factory, Leo revealed he had heard every word and knew about his plan to get his hands on the equity from Audrey’s house to pay her back.
As Stephen followed him onto the factory gantry, Leo taunted him, threatening to call Audrey as well as the police.To which Stephen snapped as he attacked Leo, pushing him off the balcony as he fell into the open bin below, unconscious. And things went from bad to worse when Sarah Barlow came outside, to which Stephen then closed the bin and left Leo's body inside.
At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Leo was dead as Stephen moved and disposed of the body in chilling scenes.
