Coronation Street fans have been left floored to discover the age gap between Audrey Roberts and Gail Platt stars, who play mother and daughter, on the ITV soap. Only recently, Audrey has been leaving her family concerned with her drinking and Wednesday's episode saw the cobbles legend suffer a drunken fall in the barbers.
However, soap watchers have been left distracted during the scenes after learning the age gap between Audrey star Sue Nicholls and Gail star Helen Worth.Taking to social media, one viewer pointed out that Sue is 78 while Helen is 71, leaving a seven year age gap in real life between the on-screen mother and daughter. In upcoming scenes, Audrey ends up trapped in the barbers all night and is soon rescued by her son, Stephen (Todd Boyce), who is returning after 15 years away. He’s just jetted in from Canada and breaks into the barbers to save his mum and get her to hospital.
