BT is on a mission to digitise the UK and here in Manchester the need for businesses and the public sector to adapt to a changing world has never been more important.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had an exceptional impact on businesses, society and economy and has accelerated this pace of change. From virtual meetings to online ordering, automated factories to drone deliveries, digital services are growing in importance and transforming an increasing number of business sectors.
In Manchester, and across the North West, BT has worked closely with health trusts, manufacturers, local authorities, and businesses both large and small, to support them on their digital journeys and help them harness the power of 21st century technology.
Sarah Walker, BT director for corporate and public sector in the North and Midlands, explains: “Even before the Covid pandemic, digital technology was having a huge impact on our lives, but the past two years have seen a monumental change, including virtual meetings, an increase in Artificial Intelligence (AI) processes, and a rise in contactless customer experiences.
“Alongside this there has been a surge in customer expectations, particularly in terms of their digital experience with companies and access to services. For example, many people no longer carry cash when shopping and expect all businesses, including corner shops and barbers, to accept card or app payments.
“We have been supporting our clients and partners with the introduction of new technology and demonstrating how it can help them become more agile, efficient, and better positioned to take advantage of new opportunities.”
