Bling Empire star . The Netflix reality show, which returns for its second season on May 15, tends to focus on Chiu's lavish lifestyle and couture wardrobe, but as most reality TV obsessives know, there's a lot you don't see behind the scenes. So while Chiu's eye-popping wealth may steal the spotlight, those paying attention will know that her true passion lies within her work at , which she co-founded with husband and plastic surgeon Dr.
Gabriel Chiu, along with raising their two-year-old son, Baby G. “Motherhood would have been my perfect ‘excuse’ to distance myself from Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery, but I find myself constantly gravitating back to the practice and getting really excited to earn money,” Chiu tells Glamour. “I've realized that is my high. I'm a serial entrepreneur and workaholic.
Dr. Chiu and I have these thoughts: Do we retire? Do we sell the practice? But we both love what we do. We could sit on our butts on the sand and have a mojito every day, but it's the excitement of discovery and transforming lives and skin and bodies that really keeps us going." Chiu doesn't fit neatly into the “reality television star” box: Besides Bling Empire being one of the few reality shows to feature an all-Asian cast, she serves as the show's executive producer.
Filming should be the easiest part of her day, but it turns out capturing her everyday life is another job itself. “I stopped counting how many glams and outfits went into it, but it's finally done,” she says of the upcoming season. Chiu also hints at some major drama brewing and warns viewers that everything is not what it seems. “Definitely watch till the end, because there are some shockers,” she says.
