Chicken fans blast Wing Fest after 'horrendous' two-hour queues per stall

Customers at Wing Fest have hit out after having to wait more than two hours per stall.
Manchester Wing Fest held its much anticipated chicken festival at the Trafford Centre over the weekend. The event showcased a range of restaurants, street food traders and pop-ups from across the UK, who displayed their culinary talents and competed against each other to be crowned the best buffalo wing and best wild wing.
A whopping 6,000 chicken wing fans were able to cast their vote across each of the two categories, along with being able to try different wings from local restaurants including Yard and Coop and Kong’s Chicken Shop.

However, festivalgoers were left frustrated by huge queues. Many were left waiting over two hours per vendor, with some giving up and heading to the nearby Orient for food instead.
Speaking to the M.E.N, Aaron MacLean said: “[It] was one of the worst food events we've been to. Firstly, there was a 30-minute queue to enter the venue with not a single person directing it which meant shoppers were having to weave in and out of us.
"We waited just over 15 minutes for the Yard and Coop vendor which is the average wait time we have come accustom to when visiting the previous Wing Rest events each year.
“Once we moved into the next queue, we then waited over 90 minutes to be served cold chicken. The queues by 2.30/3pm were averaging over 2 hours per vendor. We proceeded to wait for a third vendor and after another 90-minute wait in which we moved 40 yards or so we gave up.
