Two years after Suddenly, his wonderful fifth album as Caribou, he's returning to his other alias Daphni for a new album called Cherry. It's out on October 7 via Snaith's Jiaolong label, and its first single "Cloudy" is out today.
One of my favorite songs on Suddenly was "Sunny's Time" thanks to a glitched-out lead piano line at the beginning; it gave you a sense that anything could happen, and the track still surprises on subsequent listens. For "Cloudy," Snaith steps behind the piano once again for a more streamlined dancefloor jam built for blissful body highs.
