‘Charlotte’ Review: An Affecting But Conventional Portrait of an Artist Whose Work Survived the Holocaust

Men writer/director Alex Garland is fascinated with creation and rebirth. His first film Ex Machina focuses on creationism and oppression, his second film Annihilation deals with creation, recreation and the impending apocalypse, while his newest film deals with guilt, trauma and rebirth. This is Garland’s most emotional and abstract work (yes, it’s even abstract by Alex Garland standard), and also his weakest. Not because of the themes or any technical aspects, but because it’s a frustratingly vague piece of work. This extreme level of ambiguity weakens an otherwise haunting thriller about dealing with Post traumatic stress. 

Princess Charlotte is "sporty like her mother" Kate Middleton and will be giving big brother Prince George "a run for his money on the football pitch," a royal expert has claimed. Princess Charlotte and the Cambridges’ dog have been released to mark her seventh birthday. The young royal was photographed by her mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, at the family home in Norfolk. Kensington Palace released three photos which show Charlotte surrounded by bluebells in the gardens of Anmer Hall on the Queen’s Sandringham estate.

Now this new revival of Shange’s masterwork returns to the same theater after another critically acclaimed production played the Public in 2019.

While being a senior member of the royal family is a job in itself, many members of the famous family boast impressive careers of their own. Prince William, 39, served in the Royal Air Force before going on to work as a pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance, while his wife Kate, 40, worked part-time at high-street retailer Jigsaw after graduating from university.
