Charlotte Crosby was on cloud nine after discovering that she was expecting a baby earlier this year. But her joy was short-lived, as just weeks after receiving the life-changing news, the former Geordie Shore’s star’s mum, Letitia, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Charlotte, 32, is due to give birth to a daughter by c-section next month, but she’s confided to OK! that she’s struggling to feel any excitement at the prospect of becoming a mum, since so much of her time is dedicated to caring for her own mother, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Catching up with us ahead of the brand new series of Geordie Shore: The Reunion, Charlotte said, "With my mum going through chemotherapy and spending over six hours in hospital with her per day, I’ve got to try to put all the baby business to the back of my mind. I’ve got zero time to think about it." The exhausted star – who suffered an ectopic pregnancy back in 2016 – continued, "It just doesn’t even feel like I’m having a baby. But at the same time, it feels like I’ve been pregnant for an eternity.
I’ve got so many other things going on in my life – I don’t have time to be nervous about giving birth yet." Mum Letitia, 53, was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram earlier this year, just weeks after daughter Charlotte announced she was expecting her first baby with boyfriend Jake Ankers. "It was so difficult to tell Charlotte I had cancer," Letitia said last month. "We had all the happy news a couple of months before that she was having the baby.
"We were all so happy. We had so many things to look forward to. So telling her I had cancer when she was pregnant was so hard.
