Charlie Puth is trying his best to impress!
The 30-year-old singer-songwriter released his new song and accompanying video for “Light Switch” on Thursday (January 20).

“Light Switch” was produced by Charlie and co-written with longtime collaborator JKash, as well as songwriter Jake Torrey.
“On the songwriting level, it was really cool to share this song with the fans while I made it, so they felt like they were involved at the very beginning of the song, like they almost wrote it with me,” he explained of the track, which he teased for weeks on TikTok.
The official music video was directed by Christian Breslauer, and follows Charlie‘s journey as he attempts to get his life in order to win over a past love.
The song is the first from his upcoming album, Charlie.
“I’ve never had a chance to put out music that is truly me and every song on this album is my personality with some melody attached to it,” he explains.
He also offered some important advice that went viral.
