Realty TV star Calum Best has claimed Ferne McCann nearly killed him in an extreme stunt on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Calum is one of 14 celebrities taking part in the action packed series this year. In a nerve tingling task, the son of legendry footballer, George Best, had to fall backwards off a mountain with TOWIE's Ferne pulled on a cord to balance his weight and bring him down to safety. Then in a shocking turn of events, Ferne failed to tug hard enough leaving Calum plunging to what could have been a fatal accident.
Fortunately the directing staff were on hand to intervene and disaster was prevented. Callum said: "The DS told me, ‘If we didn’t save the cord, that thing was splitting and you were falling to your death’. Ferne started crying.
"In the moment you want to support your friend and say, ‘It’s OK,’ but in hindsight you look back and you go, ‘Jesus Christ, what the f***, if that had gone a little bit wrong for two more seconds I could have been falling backwards to my death’. “It was like, ‘For f***’s sake, woman, please pull the cord and don’t kill me!’ Like, ‘Come on, I’m not killing you. You don’t kill me — please!’ “I think then seeing Ferne crying, I just thought, ‘It’s OK.
I might have just nearly died, but you have done well learning from this experience’.” Calum has been a reality TV regular in the UK appearing on Big Brother, Celebs go Dating, Celebrity Ex on the Beach and now Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. George has said taking part in the series will allow him to showcase a new part of his personality, separate from his previous career in the reality TV world. "I’ve never been able to show that I like extreme adventure.
