CCTV footage of former world champion boxer Amir Khan being robbed at gunpoint for his £70,000 diamond encrusted watch has been shown in court during a trial. The Bolton boxer was robbed of the watch as he left a restaurant in east London on April 18 last year while with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, 31.
Snaresbrook Crown Court heard how 36-year-old Khan was forced to hand over his bespoke rose gold diamond-encrusted Franck Muller watch, worth between £60,000 to £70,000, by gunman Dante Campbell, 20. Mr Khan, who was a unified world champion at light-welterweight, told the court he was told to 'take off the watch' as he looked into the handgun’s barrel which was pointed at his face.
The robbery only last a matter of seconds but was captured on CCTV which was played to the jury yesterday (March 15). Ismail Mohamed, 24, Ahmed Bana, 25, and Nurul Amin, 25, all deny they were involved. The gunman, Campbell, from north London, has pleaded guilty to the charges, the jury has been told.

The CCTV shows Mr Khan leaving a restaurant with his wife smiling before crossing the road to get into a waiting car being driven by his friend Omar Khalid. Two men get out of a silver Mercedes coupe parked in front before a hooded man jogs towards Mr Khan, raising his right arm to point the gun. The now retired boxer, who currently lives in Dubai, can then be seen handing over his watch.
The robbers then run off back to the Mercedes, which drives off, as members of the public rush towards Mr Khan. He previously told the jury that his wife was left “screaming and crying” following the robbery.
"(I was) really scared. I have got three kids, my wife was next to me as well,"
