Carol Vorderman looked incredible as she headed to the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema in London on Thursday 19 May. The 61 year old, who recently said that replacing Anne Robinson on Countdown would be an 'honour', ditched her usual glamorous red carpet gowns in favour of a khaki green flight suit, as she paid homage to the original Top Gun film.

Carol Vorderman has broken her silence after Anne Robinson's Countdown exit, saying it would be an "honour" to host the show. Carol co-hosted the show with Richard Whitely for 26 years before he sadly died in 2005 and she left in 2008. And it's now been claimed that bosses are desperate for Carol to return and replace Anne.
Luckily it seems that she would be up for the role, as she tweeted: "Thank you to all of you saying such lovely things about a possibility of me returning to Countdown. Carol continued: "You're very kind & it would be an honour but I want to wish whoever is the lucky human to be the new host all the love and 9 letter words in the world #CountWell#HappyDays." Announcing her exit earlier this week, Anne said: "I’ve had a blast hosting this wonderful show. And I stayed longer than I signed up for. Now it is time for an older woman to take the reins.
“I hope too I’ve encouraged TV bosses to realise that not all women at the wrong end of their seventies are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks." Some other names to have been rumoured as possible replacements include Romesh Ranganathan, Fiona Bruce, Paul O'Grady, Dermot O'Leary and Jon Richardson.. According to The Mirror, Vorderman is the bookies' second favourite to take over the role after Ranganathan, with odds of 4/1. Fellow quiz show host Victoria Coren Mitchell is one of the famous fans to tweet her support for Vorderman's return, describing her as an "excellent" choice.
