Carol McGiffin has finally revealed to fans why she has not appeared on Loose Women for over two months now. The 63-year-old, despite being a regular face on the show since 2000, has recently stepped back but has remained tight-lipped on her decision until now. Breaking her silence, Carol explained to Best Magazine how the "stress" over upcoming contract negotiations had been impacting her life.
She said: "I haven't been on the show for two months now because I've had to step away from it. "It was causing me too much stress, which was mostly down to a difficult contract issue I'd been challenging since January. "The problem was, ITV were insisting, for the first time since I went back in 2018, that if I wanted to carry on doing the show, I would have to sign a contract that was totally unjust and unworkable for me, so I had to say no thanks.
She continued: "And I know it looks like I've thrown my toys out of the pram, but the whole saga was affecting my health. "It's not really that I've left, I'm just not doing it at the moment. I feel quite upset about it, if I'm honest, because although it is my decision, I felt like it was one I was being forced to make." This comes as quite the shock to Loose Women fans though, especially with its upcoming tour.
However, the broadcaster promised fans it won't be the end of the road as she is ready to focus more on writing and enjoying time with husband, Mark Cassidy. The pair recently celebrated Carol's 63rd birthday with some winter sun on the beach in Phuket, Thailand, the place they got married in 2018. Showing off her incredible figure to her 149k followers on Instagram, she captioned a series of photos with "Scenes from a 63rd birthday." Her fans also raced to the comments
