Cardi B remembers “beautiful soul” Takeoff in fresh tribute

Tom Parker's widow, Kelsey Parker, has paid tribute to the late singer on Father's Day. After rising to fame as a singer in the popular boyband The Wanted, Tom sadly passed away in March last year following a two-year battle with an incurable brain tumour. Kelsey, 32, shared an emotional social media post remembering Tom with her 412k followers on Instagram today.

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music Grammy-winning Songwriters Hall of Fame member Cynthia Weil — who co-wrote “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” “On Broadway,” “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” “Walking in the Rain,” “You’re My Soul and Inspiration,” “Uptown,” “He’s So Shy,” “Kicks,” “Here You Come Again,” “Through the Fire,” “Somewhere Out There” and many other hits, mostly with her husband and Brill Building colleague Barry Mann — died earlier this month at the age of 82. She was one of the top “Brill Building” songwriters that came out of the Midtown Manhattan building of the same name (although much of the work actually was done a couple of blocks uptown at 1650 Broadway) and spawned literally hundreds of hits throughout the 1960s for the Righteous Brothers, the Ronettes, the Drifters, the Monkees, the Animals, multiple Phil Spector productions and many others. Along with Mann — to whom Weil was married for some 62 years — the coterie included another young married couple, Carole King and the late Gerry Goffin.

Treat Williams is being remembered. The and actor died Monday at 71 after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

The mother of Migos member Takeoff has filed a negligence lawsuit against the Houston bowling alley where the rapper was killed last year.Takeoff – real name Kirsnick Khari Ball – was shot dead during an altercation that occurred outside Houston’s 810 Billiards & Bowling in the early hours of 1 Nov. The rapper himself was not involved in the altercation.Houston police explained last year that the rapper, and his bandmate and uncle Quavo, had been at a private party at the venue.

Thania Garcia Nearly seven months after Migos rapper Takeoff was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley, his mother, Titania Davenport, has filed a negligence lawsuit against the venue. Takeoff (real name: Kirsnick Khari Ball), was killed at a late-night event in downtown Houston on Nov. 1 after being shot multiple times. Harris County Police said in a press conference that Takeoff was an “innocent bystander” of the argument that led to his death, and now his family is holding the venue accountable for failing to provide sufficient security that night. On June 7, Davenport filed a lawsuit at the Texas district court against the property owners of 810 Billiards & Bowling, noting that the defendants were informed the event required extra security and would draw a large crowd, many of whom would be celebrities. They further claim the venue “provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures, and no enforcement of rules or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees, to include [Takeoff].”

Takeoff’s mother is taking legal action.

Offset was originally meant to release his sophomore album on November 11, but he pushed back its release when the news broke.Now in a new interview with Variety, Offset has spoken ahead of his highly-anticipated follow-up to his debut solo album, ‘Father Of 4’. The 31-year-old previewed an unreleased collaboration between him and Takeoff and told the publication that the pair recorded the track last summer.
