'Captain America' Reveals Title for Fourth Film Starring Anthony Mackie During Comic-Con 2022

Vary Senior Entertainment WriterThe Kang Dynasty has its leader.“Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings” director Destin Daniel Cretton will continue his tenure within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the director of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” a rep for Marvel Studios confirmed.Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced “The Kang Dynasty” during the company’s wide-ranging presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, as part one of the two-part conclusion to the Multiverse Saga — similar to how 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” concluded the Infinity Saga.Unlike those films — which were filmed and directed back-to-back by MCU veterans Anthony and Joe Russo — Cretton will only be directing “The Kang Dynasty,” which is set to debut on May 2, 2025.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige made several major updates about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to outlining the end of Phase 4 and sharing the full lineup for Phase 5, Feige also revealed plans for Phase 6, which will kick off with in 2024 before ending with two new Avengers films, and, in 2025. Feige also gave a brief glimpse into what is coming in Phase 6, which is scheduled to conclude in Nov.

After a three-year hiatus, Marvel Studios is finally back at San Diego Comic-Con and they come bearing a tremendous amount of movie news. During their whirlwind, hour-long presentation, Kevin Feige announced both the full Phase 5 lineup and even teased some of the huge crossover films that will take place in Phase 6.

Back in 2014, while director James Gunn was on the promotional tour for “Guardians of The Galaxy,” he said that he was interested in making a “Thunderbolts” movie and got the nod from studio head Kevin Feige that it could be on the table if “Guardians” was successful. It’s now 2022, and Marvel is moving forward with that project without Gunn, who might have scratched that itch after making “The Suicide Squad” and the HBO Max series “Peacemaker.” It was revealed back in June that “Frank & Robot” director Jake Schreier would be helming the film, and while not a lot of details were revealed in the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, the film was given a summer 2024 release date, July 26, 2024, to be exact.

Daredevil is officially coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
