Queen Consort Camilla and Princess Beatrice have been given important new royal roles under King Charles III’s reign. Charles formally became King on September 10, just two days after Her Majesty the Queen’s passing.

During his first address to the United Kingdom as monarch on Friday 9 September, King Charles reflected on how the death of Queen Elizabeth II would change the royal family. After becoming King immediately upon the death of his beloved mother, 73 year old Charles had to give up a number of his titles including that of the Prince of Wales, which he was given when he was just nine years old.

Sophie, looking serene as ever, wore a black long-sleeved belted midi dress for the occasion, following the royal tradition of somber dressing during the mourning period.The princess accessorized minimally with a cross silver necklace and a black hat.  During the ceremony at Westminster Hall, the Countess of Wessex joined her husband and other members of the royal family, such as Kate, Princess of Wales, Queen Consort Camilla and Princess Beatrice, to honor Queen Elizabeth II.

As Prince William and Princess Kate continue to mourn the late Queen Elizabeth II ahead of her state funeral, the couple emotionally made a public appearance at Sandringham Estate.

Meghan Markle and Sophie Wessex looked united in grief yesterday as they made their way to Westminster Hall together as part of the procession of the Queen’s coffin from Buckingham Palace. As Camilla, Queen Consort, and Kate Middleton made their way to the ceremony, 41 year old Meghan and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 57, could be seen following the duo in a separate car. And while Meghan and Sophie are rarely seen alone together, the pair share many similarities, including the fact that they both married into the royal family.

Queen Consort Camilla arrived alone at Buckingham Palace ahead of the procession that saw the Queen‘s coffin leave her home this afternoon. Camilla, 75, was seen looking deeply sombre whilst being driven to Buckingham Palace earlier in central London, ahead of the ceremonial procession of the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II to Westminster Hall.The Queen will lie in state in Westminster Hall inside the Palace of Westminster, from Wednesday 14 September until hours before her funeral next Monday.
