A woman who admitted ignoring her bail conditions in a bid to get Calvin Harris tickets has escaped punishment for the breach. Sinead Lovie, broke a ban on contacting her former partner by messaging him to demand the return of her concert tickets.
Fiscal depute Sarah Wilkinson told Perth Sheriff Court that Lovie sent a text message demanding the tickets for the superstar DJ from Michael O'Brien. Lovie wrote: "Hope you're happy with yourself. Lucy needs those tickets. Give them to her. I don't care about mine. Give her those tickets."
Mr O'Brien recognised the number as Lovie's and reported the illicit contact about her friend's concert ticket to the police on July 2 this year. Officers arrived to quiz Lovie and she asked them: "Is this about Lucy's tickets? I texted Michael. I panicked and texted him."
Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said: "Calvin Harris tickets were the hot topic. The friend - Lucy - was expecting them as a birthday gift.
"Having left the house she was seeking to recover both of the tickets and post them on to her friend."
Lovie, from Perth, admitted breaching bail - which had been imposed on March 18 - by sending a single text message to her ex-boyfriend. She also subsequently changed her plea during a trial and admitted assaulting Mr O'Brien in February this year by spitting on his face.
She was placed under supervision for 12 months for that offence - which was the original incident which led to her being placed on bail.
